ELECTRONIC TICKETING AND E- SERVICES

Context

Since June 1, 2008, the paper ticket theoretically disappeared. According to IATA, that will generate 3 billion dollars of savings for the airlines and from the ecological point of view, it will allow to save 50.000 trees.

All the functionalities around booking and recording, including the provision of various information such as the schedules, the Miles report, the legal information (prohibited objects aboard the airplane, authorized weights, Warsaw convention etc), possible promotions, are now available through Internet, mobile phone or airport terminals.

These applications are implemented using internal services (E-services) developed either by the airlines, or by the GDS. The implementation of these applications could be extremely complex, especially if it is necessary to manage the bookings with several stopovers and if several airlines are involved in the `interline' exchanges.

Advise you throughout the deployment of open-sources solutions which you will set up either on the WEB or on Airport solutions (dedicated Terminals or CRUSS)
