SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SMS)

Context

Safety is a major stake for all the actors of air transport.
The ICAO and IATA undertook many actions in that respect to improve the safety level.
The implementation of a SMS is compulsory for all the operators under the ICAO regulations as of January 1, 2009.
The national regulations are not yet issued for the majority.
It will be also one of the IOSA standards on July 2009.
